Restore and Recover Fuzzy datafiles

Restore and Recover Fuzzy datafiles

There is a parameter

_allow_resetlogs_corruption=TRUE

That may allow you to open a database that has fuzzy datafiles. I've
seen it work when a database has been cloned but someone (not me) had
forgotten to issue a begin backup command. I used it to force the
database to open as I was sure-ish no work had been done while the
datafiles had been copied. Every thing seemed Okay especially as it was
only a test database anyhow.

I believe that if any work has been done and you try and use
inconsistent data you will get an ORA-600 (See ORA-600.ora-code.com) type error however you may be
able restore something by selecting around the problem i.e. identify the
rows that are inconsistent and cause an ORA-600 (See ORA-600.ora-code.com) and don't select them.

Cheers,

Ian
